Australian energy company Santos, operator of the Gladstone LNG plant and a stakeholder in two other regional liquefaction and export facilities, confirmed a significant natural gas discovery after a successful appraisal of the Corvus field in the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia.
Santos, the Australian operator of the Gladstone liquefied natural gas plant in Queensland and a stakeholder in export plants in Darwin and Papua New Guinea, returned a solid annual net profit and boosted sales by 18 percent.
Santos Chief Executive Kevin Gallagher said the Australian energy and LNG production company was committed to boosting Cooper Basin production and working with domestic industry to deliver competitively priced natural gas as it signed another wholesale agreement.
Australian energy company Santos, with stakes in three Asia-Pacific LNG export plants, is moving forward to take over the major Western Australian natural gas supplier Quadrant Energy after itself escaping an acquisition raid by US equity fund Harbour Energy.
