Stena Bulk, the Swedish shipping line with 107 vessels in its fleet including three LNG carriers, has made a major investment in exhaust-cleaning technology to help meet the International Maritime Organization sulfur cap by 2020.

ExxonMobil, the US major with worldwide volumes from liquefied natural gas production plants in areas such as the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region, said a shipping industry survey it conducted found that the route to compliance with the International Maritime Organization 2020 global sulphur cap of 0.5 percent is unclear for many vessel operators.
