Jan 6 - France's Total received two licences from Mauritania for offshore northwest Africa and in the nation's Saharan territories, which hold natural gas possibilities. The Block C 9 in ultra-deep offshore and Block Ta 29 is onshore in the Taoudeni basin. The offshore licence covers an area of more than 10,000 square kilometres. The Block Ta 29 is located in the Sahara desert, 1,000km east of the capital Nouakchott.
