Spot LNG prices for delivery to Northwest Europe remained high on the back of supply concerns, increased storage withdrawals and colder temperatures across the Continent. Platts, part of Commodity Insights, assessed the Northwest Europe spot LNG marker at $14.27 per MMBtu on 28th November.

South Korea is to extend the consumption tax cut on LNG and coal used for electricity production by an additional six months through the end of June. This move was made to help ease the power utilities’ financial woes, the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance said yesterday.

Greek-controlled clean energy solutions company, Pure Energy has signed a $1.1 bill sale and leaseback contract with China’s CMB Financial Leasing (CMBL) for five 200,000 cu m LNGCs. They are under construction at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and were ordered by Pure Energy affiliate, Dynagas last year.

Norwegian controlled LNGC owner Flex LNG has signed a new 15 year timecharter agreement for ‘Flex Constellation’. The charter will commence during the first or second quarters of 2026 with maturity in 2041. The contract includes an extension option for another two years to 2043.
