Johnson Matthey of the UK said it entered into a contract for the supply of a technology licence, engineering, catalysts and technical services to China for an LNG plant in Qianan in the eastern Hebei province involving the liquefaction of coke oven gas.

The Alaska Senate Finance Committee was expected to adopt a bill soon to advance the South Central Alaska LNG project described as potentially the largest in the world and with a minimum price tag now put at $45 billion.

Toyo Engineering Corp. the Japanese LNG construction company, was awarded an import terminal expansion contract by Petronet LNG, one of India's main cargo importers, and pledged to be part of the Indian LNG surge whereby more than 10 additional facilities will be built.

The US has highlighted the drop in Indonesia's share of global trade in LNG as it plans to turn one of its main production plants into an import terminal and the state power company is developing eight small regasification facilities.
