California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced that while liquefied natural gas still has a role to play in the state's energy future, he rejected Australia-based BHP Billiton's proposed offshore LNG receiving terminal project, Cabrillo Port, on the basis that it failed to meet environmental standards.
The month of May 2007 is expected to see a record set for the amount of LNG delivered into the United States, the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said, because of the wide differential between natural gas prices in the US and Europe.
