Burckhardt profits jump

Swiss company Burckhardt Compression, whose LNG offerings include its Laby brand of compressors and boil-off gas solutions, reported high order intake and sales for the first half and with operating profit and net profit both sharply higher year-on-year. Fiscal first-half operating income from April to September almost tripled to 16.65 million Swiss francs ($16.83M) compared with 5.62M francs in the same six months of 2018. Net income rose almost four-fold to 11.75M francs from 2.28M francs in the year-ago period.


GTT accord in China

French LNG storage tank technology company GTT and the major state-owned company Beijing Enterprises Group (BEG) have signed an accord concerning the evaluation of containment technology for onshore storage tanks, through its subsidiary Beijing Gas Group Co. The signing took place during the visit to Beijing of French President Emmanuel Macron for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.


NextDecade cuts losses

NextDecade Corp., the developer of the Rio Grande LNG export project in the Port of Brownsville, narrowed its third-quarter net losses to $6.36 million from $10.9M in the year ago quarter as it reduced operating expenses. Nine-month losses amounted to $30.13M versus $30.63M in the same period of 2018. The Nasdaq-listed company is also pursuing an associated 137-mile Rio Bravo pipeline in south Texas to supply feed-gas and it also has the option to develop a second export plant called the Galveston Bay project on a 994-acre site secured near Texas City.
