TransAtlantic LNG trading was at the centre of the first European Union-US Energy Council energy forum in Brussels in Brussels with the main participants being members of the American Petroleum Institute and the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers.
There are currently some 30 floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in operation, of which approximately 24 are operating as FSRUs and the other six trading as LNG carriers.
The most comprehensive study ever undertaken to assess the advantages of liquefied natural gas as a marine fuel, involving leading consultants, academics, the oil and gas majors and the leading global engine-makers, has given LNG a massive endorsement.
