Intercontinental Exchange, the leading global provider of energy trading platforms for futures and options, reported a doubling of annual daily volume (ADV) for European benchmark Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) futures and for all natural gas trading almost 20 million lots were traded on one day at the start of November.
The European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) said it planned to publish its own price assessment for LNG in Europe to replace the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF) market price in a move seen as seizing control of prices and interfering with free markets.
Intercontinental Exchange, a leading global provider of energy trading platforms for futures and options, reported very high volumes for June and for the second quarter highlighted derivatives included North American natural gas, the European Union benchmark Dutch Title Transfer Facility and North Sea Brent crude oil.
Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco), the world’s largest seller of crude oil, reported that annual net income more than doubled to $110 billion and confirmed plans to boost natural gas output by 50 percent.
US LNG exports increased to seven shipments in the past week while feed-gas supplies to liquefaction and export plants also rose as natural gas prices and LNG indicators edged higher or were steady.
March 12 (LNGJ) - CME Group, one of the largest derivatives trading and settlement platforms for energy futures and options, including natural gas and LNG, said it would close its Chicago trading floor as of the close of business on Friday, March 13, 2020, as a precaution to reduce large gatherings that can contribute to the spread of coronavirus. CME said the move was in line with the advice of medical professionals.
“All products will continue to trade on CME Globex as they do today,” stated CME. “No coronavirus cases have been reported on the trading floor or in the Chicago Board of Trade building,” it added. CME explained that the reopening of the trading floor would be evaluated as more medical guidance on the coronavirus becomes available. The company's headquarters at 20 S Wacker Drive in Chicago would remain open.
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a report assessing the market impacts due to the US transitioning from being a net importer to a net exporter of liquefied natural gas.
