Woodside Energy and the East Timor government have agreed to use feedgas from the Greater Sunrise field for a proposed greenfield LNG terminal. Start-up is targeted as early as 2032 to 2035, subject to concept selection and investment decisions.

COSCO’s FLNG unit gets DNV approval

China’s COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore and the COSCO shipyard (Nantong) have received approval in principle (AiP) from the Norwegian classification society DNV, along with a main scantling approval for their new concept for a floating liquefaction and storage unit. The innovative new FLNG concept reflects the industry’s drive for flexible, lower-carbon energy solutions, commented DNV’s regional manager for greater China, Norbert Kray.

Horizon finalises EPC concept for Western LNG

ASX-listed Horizon Oil has just finalised the engineering concept on its Western LNG development in Papua New Guinea. The 1.5 mpta project will generate US$20-30 billion in revenues over its lifetime, according to Horizon’s new CEO Michael Sheridan.

DNV GL approves new FLNG-to-Power concept

Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd (DNV GL), an international classification society, have given IHI the approval in principle for its design of a Floating LNG Power Station (FLPS). The concept is a combination of a FSRU and a power plant.
