Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the California-based supplier of liquefied natural gas made from waste and with about 590 filling stations across the US and Canada, has expanded its portfolio of supply and maintenance agreements for trucking fleets, city buses and refuse trucks in North America.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp., the California-based producer and marketer of liquefied natural gas made from waste, said it was continuing to increase its customer base and has new production plans.

The California ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, which in the past were short-listed as possible West Coast LNG import terminal locations, are now using more than 100 gas-powered trucks for port transportation and fueled by the leading developer of LNG filling stations, Clean Energy Fuel Corp.

Clean Fuel Corp., the California-based company co-founded by US oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens who is one of the main advocates of LNG fuel for trucking, has put two Total executives on its board after the French energy major bought a stake in 2018 and has retained Pickens as an honorary director.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp., one of the main LNG fuel distributors in the US, said its sales of gas fuel during 2016 amounted to 329.0 million gallons, a rise of 6.6 percent compared with the previous year.

UK major BP has agreed to acquire the upstream bio-methane portion of the fueling business established by Clean Energy Fuels Corp. of the US as part of its build-out of a network of LNG stations in North America.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has opened its first public natural gas station in the northwest state of Oregon as part of its continued build-out of a countrywide network offering LNG fuel for the trucking industry.
