Chesapeake Energy Corp. has become the most high-profile oil and gas company to emerge from US Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and has a new agenda to boost natural gas output with greener overtones in Appalachia and the LNG-producing area of the Gulf Coast from its 1.6 million net acres in key American basins.

Occidental Petroleum Corp., the winner of the bidding last year for Anadarko Petroleum and its Mozambique LNG prize, has asked for bids by July 1 for oil and gas properties in the US states of Wyoming and Colorado as it is brought low by debt.
