Venture Global, the US liquefied natural gas export projects developer in the state of Louisiana, said long-term expansion would increase production from 70 million tonnes per annum to more than 100 MTPA of nameplate capacity.
Venture Global, the US developer of three LNG export plants in Louisiana, said that US engineering firm KBR was awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the first phase of the Plaquemines project on the banks of the Mississippi River.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has issued a letter to US LNG project developer Venture Global giving permission to proceed with initial mobilization and limited site preparation for the Plaquemines LNG project on the banks of the Mississippi River, about 30 miles south of New Orleans.
Venture Global, the US liquefied natural gas developer pursuing three projects in the state of Louisiana, has now raised a total of $2.8 billion in financing and much more will be needed as it presses ahead with plans to produce 56 million tonnes per annum of LNG for export.
Venture Global LNG, the company based in Virginia with three LNG export projects in Louisiana, said it had secured a $1.3 billion investment from New York equity firm Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners for its Calcasieu Pass project in the Gulf Coast state.
