Technip Energies, one of the leading LNG project engineering companies, has signed an accord with US energy services company Baker Hughes to cooperate on developing mid-scale and modular onshore liquefaction plants.

Oct 20 (LNGJ) - A Singapore-based shipping unit of the BW Group, BW LNG, and Swiss LNG equipment provider Burckhardt Compression have signed a 10-year service agreement covering nine LNG carriers with Laby-GI Compressors on board. “Building on their existing long-term relationship, the two companies agreed to a tailor-made ‘Fleet Management Solution’ which provides a total care package supported by the latest monitoring diagnostics,” they said.

   “This partnership was established to formally cement and promote the holistic and sustainable service standards that are necessary in a changing and uncertain world,” they said. “The new long-term service agreement (LTSA) was developed together with the BW LNG experts to provide services on board that add value to the operation of the vessels, such as improved lifecycle costs, operational efficiency and accurate preventive maintenance,” added Burckhardt.

Baker Hughes, the US liquefied natural gas equipment supplier, has secured an order from Qatar Petroleum to supply multiple main refrigerant compressors and turbines for the LNG producer’s North Field East LNG expansion.

Venture Global LNG of the US said it completed successful string tests at Baker Hughes in Italy of the first mixed-refrigerant compression system for the Calcasieu Pass export plant in Louisiana.

Nov 26 (LNGJ) - Swiss company Burckhardt Compression, whose LNG offerings include its Laby brand of compressors and boil-off gas solutions, has acquired a US field services firm, the Arkos Group, by purchasing the 60 percent of Arkos it did not already own. The Arkos workforce numbers 250 employees.

   Burckhardt initially acquired a 40 percent interest in Arkos Group in December 2015. “With the purchase of the remaining ownership of Arkos, Burckhardt Compression together with Arkos Field Services will be the only independent one-stop provider for equipment and service in the upstream, midstream and downstream business,” said Burckhardt.

   “The US has the world's largest installed base of reciprocating compressors,” it noted. The previous estimate of Burckhardt’s full-year sales for fiscal year 2019 ranged between 600M Swiss francs ($601M) and 640M francs and with the acquisition will increase by 20M-30M francs.

The Italian Nidec Industrial Solutions group has signed a contract with Siemens Gas and Power of Germany whereby the Italians will supply variable frequency drive systems and motors for the Arctic LNG II project planned in northern Siberia by Russian natural gas company Novatek and its partners.
