Skangas, one of the most prominent participants in the Nordic LNG market, has signed up a paper mill as its newest customer as it builds its industrial, shipping and heavy-duty road transport supply portfolio.

Nordic LNG supplier Skangas has taken a big step in helping develop the Baltic and North Sea clean maritime fuel market by using its new LNG bunkering vessel to refuel a products tanker on international waters between Denmark and Sweden.

Skangas, the Nordic LNG supplier and facility operator, and ESL Shipping have entered into an agreement providing gas fuel to ESL’s LNG-powered bulk carrier newbuilds, expected to start operating during the first half of 2018.

Finnish natural gas and LNG company Gasum is increasing its shareholding in Norwegian-based operator Skangas by additional 19 percent to 70 percent as it expands regasification, production and distribution infrastructure in the Baltic and northern regions of Europe.

May 23 (LNGJ) - A naming ceremony has been held for the 5,800 cubic metres capacity “Coralius”, an LNG bunkering and distribution vessel that will enter service in June for Nordic company Skangas. The vessel was commissioned by Dutch owners Anthony Veder and Sirius Shipping in 2015 and was built at the Royal Bodewes shipyard. “This new vessel will offer LNG bunkering services for Skangas, mainly operating in the North Sea, the Skagerak area and the Baltic Sea,” said Skangas, the charterer. “Bunkering LNG ship-to-ship increases the accessibility of this marine fuel for our customers,” said Kimmo Rahkamo, Chief Executive of Skangas.

Skangas, the Norwegian liquefied natural gas supplier and facility operator, has named Kimmo Rahkamo as its new chief executive in succession to Tor Morten Osmundsen.
