Japanese companies Mitsubishi Corp. and Air Water Inc. said they had jointly developed a compact LNG fuel filling station facility aimed at the growing global market for LNG-powered trucks.
Hokkaido Electric Power, the Japanese utility, said it started loading trucks with liquefied natural gas at its Ishikari import facility for a small-scale distribution business aimed at industrial customers.
JX Nippon Oil & Energy, a shareholder in the Papua New Guinea LNG plant and with supply agreements with Malaysia and Indonesia, said it had started collaboration with Hokkaido Gas Co., including joint use of JX Nippon’s Kushiro regasification terminal and the establishment of a separate natural gas joint venture.
Malaysian energy company Petronas has signed an LNG supply agreement with Japanese utility Hokkaido Electric Power for a period of 10 years that will see shipments delivered to one of Japan’s newest and expanding import terminals.
The Japanese Ishikari liquefied natural gas import terminal, located on the northern main island of Hokkaido, has begun construction of a fourth storage tank as part of the nation’s main LNG expansion plans.
