Carbon-neutral LNG Schemes Continue to Build Momentum

Facing pressure from buyers in Europe and Asia, US LNG producers are building momentum in the implementation of various carbon monitoring and reduction schemes. Whereas recent carbon-neutral cargoes were based on carbon credits, a new project by LNG developer NextDecade is, in addition to general monitoring, seeking carbon capture at the point of liquefaction. Routine and widespread carbon reduction measures will help LNG expand its position as a key transition fuel, in our view.
