Myanmar finally Joins Ranks of Asian LNG Importers, Rushing to Avoid Summer Blackouts

Myanmar has become Southeast Asia’s latest LNG importer as the CNTIC VPower Global docked at the new Thanlyin LNG jetty on Saturday morning. However, the LNG project is being rushed through as Yangon is threatened by severe power shortage this summer during an election year. Consequently, we see considerable uncertainty surrounding the second – and much larger – cargo currently aboard the Golar Kelvin.
