Sempra confirms Chile deal as second South American utility to be sold to Chinese interests

Sempra Energy, the California utility and LNG sector participant with plants in Louisiana and Mexico, has confirmed the sale of a second South American power company to Chinese interests with the offloading of the Chilean Chilquinta Energía business and its affiliates for almost $3 billion.
