Dutch energy storage giant Vopak and Spanish LNG terminals owner Enagas said they completed the acquisition of the Altamira LNG receiving terminal on the Gulf coast of Mexico from Royal Dutch Shell and other shareholders for $408 million.
Vopak, already a major shareholder in Europe’s newest LNG import terminal in Rotterdam, will own 60 percent of Altamira and the balance of the shares will be held by Enagas.
