Various methane regulatory initiatives discussed

The LNG market could see differentiated pricing for cargoes sourced from upstream operators with different methane intensity levels, as various policies to regulate methane emissions consolidate, a conference was told 

Last Sunday’s LNG Producer-Consumer Conference 2024 held in Hiroshima, organised by Japan’s  Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the International Energy Agency (IEA), saw several agreements on methane reductions from key players signed, such as Japan, South Korea and Europe.
