LNG prices and pipeline gas trends suggest mixed market outlook for 2021

Tuesday, 15 December 2020

Europe will remain a significant market for Atlantic Basin LNG exports even after the recent start-up of the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline and the delayed completion of the Nord Stream II Pipeline from Russia to Germany as the market has many fixed connecting pipeline capacities amid North Sea output declines.

While seasonal flows will vary and Europe this year has had unusually high levels of storage because economic activity has plummeted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the UK and European Union markets will still be key destinations for shipments when Asia prices are low.
