LNG operator Woodside deploys computing equivalent to 4.2km high stack of laptops for gas field data

Woodside Petroleum, the operator of two LNG export plants in Western Australia, said it had become one of a handful of companies worldwide to simultaneously use more than 1 million virtual Central Processing Units (vCPUs) on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure as part of its seismic exploration of the Greater Sunrise natural gas field in the Timor Sea.
