First US LNG shipment in over a year heads to China

The first LNG cargo from the United States for more than a year is heading for the Chinese port Tianjin, east of Beijing, from the Cameron export plant in Louisiana operated by Sempra Energy. If landed at Tianjin, as planned on April 29, the 180,000 cbm cargo could signal the start of a tepid recovery in Chinese gas demand as the country lifts its coronavirus lockdown.
