NDRC partially lifts China’s ban on Australian coal imports

The National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) has allowed selected companies to resume coal imports from Australia. Domestic miners were also urged to further increase their record output – although China has access to discounted Russian coal – as it massively builds out coal-fired generation to avoid a repeat of rolling blackouts like last summer.
