PetroChina says gas demand could rise more than 7 percent through to March

Monday, 28 November 2022

Though China’s gas demand has shrunk this year as Beijing’s no-Covid policy hampered economic growth, PetroChina expects consumption will rebound by 5.5 percent to 7.2 percent between November and March 2023, depending on weather. To meet demand this winter, PetroChina procured an extra 110 Bcm of gas, half of which will be produced domestically and one third imported from Russia and Central Asia.
