China acts to ensure energy supply security at stable prices

The Chinese government has diversified energy imports and is boosting domestic oil, gas and coal production to keep prices under control. The People’s Republic imports more than 70 percent of oil and 40 percent of its natural gas needs from overseas, but claims the impact of spiralling global prices would be “manageable” as it resorts to coal.
