British energy giant BP has carried out the first direct gas shipment to a Chinese gas customer by supplying an LNG cargo to ENN. The delivery was made possible by China’s gas market reform which loosened the tight grip of the country’s three state-owned importers – CNPC and its subsidiary PetroChina, CNOOC and Sinopec – on gas infrastructure.
