THIS WEEK: Malaysia forges unique Asian LNG role as producer, buyer, investor

Malaysia, currently the No. 3 world producer of LNG, is now also becoming an LNG importer after completion of its first import facility at Sungai Udang in Malacca, located on the coast about 175 kilometres south of the capital Kuala Lumpur (See photo). The economics of this are underpinned by Malaysia’s unique position in the Asian LNG market.
